WordPress Saves Time and Headaches

WordPress Saves Time and Headaches

Many years ago, I realized that very little coding in web design has to be from scratch. Of course, a common web design strategy is to use tailored customizations to make websites stand out and be unique from the competition and that does makes a lot of sense. Developers used to have to take much time to create these complexities and much more time was spent fighting these coding monsters. Do not misunderstand; this strategy can be quite effective, but beware full and custom design from scratch. I have seen designers do this using the terms “customized” or “unique.” Worst case, the logic is to possibly just to trap the client into coming back to that design company for future work because of the increased cost of complex adjustments, or frankly, they just do not know what they are doing. Other times, there is a valid need for something “custom coded from scratch.” My suggestion is to make sure any custom coding will be more advantageous than disadvantageous. Can your wallet handle the cost of constant upgrades and updates? Most will need a development team to keep up with coding and security issues. Make sure it is worth your effort. There are many other options to make your website unique and competitive without having to gouge your wallet and your time.

Today, the web design technologies have progressed quite far. Most clients, even those with little or no website experience, can pick up on the “how to” basics of the quite powerful content management system (CMS), WordPress. Although practically anyone can learn to use WordPress on at least some level, many still prefer to let a web design company manage the ropes. That being said, WordPress is robust and user-friendly for the new user but is much more powerful in the hands of a seasoned developer more familiar with the product. WordPress saves so much time, has so much functionality out-of-the-box and is built with a structure that allows for endless combinations of features. It has allowed the web designers, and non-designers, to flourish and bask in the glow of power and functionality by providing a powerful template structure for their custom designs.

Due to the power can realization of what WordPress can do, not to mention the fact that many of the Internet’s biggest key players use WordPress for their websites, or similar content management systems (CMS), many of One Stop Tech Shop client websites have been created with WordPress. We are not limited to working in the WordPress platform. Although it does seem that more and web projects these days just fit perfectly with WordPress as part of their solution.

We are focused on building websites with search engine optimization (SEO). The fact that WordPress has so many tools and options available to create a clear and strong presence for the robot crawlers to find and categorize the sites and content, WordPress is a powerful tool in the arsenal of our website designer toolbox.
